Standards used in Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera manufacture

IP Standards

The IP standards classifies and rates the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects for example dust and water with respect to mechanical casings and with electrical enclosures. (only the relevant standards are published here).

The following is important to interpret the quality of your Thermal Imaging Camera:
  - The higher the rating the better your equipment is protected - Its an assessment of the quality of the enclosure
  - The first digit is in respect of solids - Dust, body parts etc.
  - The second digit is in respect of water ingression.
